Bingo!

During the covid lockdown we sometimes had a hard time keeping our kids busy (and keeping our own sanity).

One day we were playing with one of the games which had 2 dices: * one with regular dots 1-6 * the other was colored in red/green/blue/…

which provided 36 variations…and I was wondering if I would printing 4x4 table of those randomly - it could be some fun bingo game with them :)

I sat down and thrown together some script which could produce things like that (sources) :)

It was fun up to the point we had just a few ones left - the game slowed down significantly because we were repeating previosly rolled combinations (obviously).

So I made a matrix of the possible dice combos - and printed it out…this made the above problem go away; but also pointed in the direction that we don’t anymore need to use colors+dots anymore…

So instead of getting stuck to the dices - I went on and collected some interesting unicode chars to be used; and made a new version of the game:

Since we doesnt had a constraint on the number of the pictograms - I’ve collected quite a lot:

My daughters really like it - especially because after the first crossed out row/column there is usually some candy or similar - to keep everyone engaged :) Nowadays we only play this with the grandparents - as a bigger gang makes it more fun :)
